STAGING: IS IT WORTH THE INVESTMENT?
As home buyers we all like to think of ourselves as being savvy enough to “see past” clutter and tired décor to the see the true potential of a house, but the fact is people have an immediate emotional response to the way a home is(or is not) decorated.
An investment in staging a house for sale often results in a sale price much higher than the investment.. Buyers are much more likely to “fall in love” with your house and become emotionally attached to owning it, resulting in higher offers. Without staging the Buyer may have trouble visualizing themselves in the house and become dissuaded by the “work” they think the house needs. Staging need not be an expensive process.
Often de-cluttering, new placement of furniture, and a neutral palette will create a renewed feeling of space, flow, and a desirable lifestyle. The following “before and after” pictures showcase a very modest staging effort within the capabilities of most homeowners.
