Some buyers just don’t see the benefits of a home inspection. After all, they cost money and some buyers are actually a little too timid, thinking they may offend the sellers if they request one.
But a home inspection is one of the most important things you can do before you buy a home – before you buy any home! This includes a brand new home that was just constructed or a higher-end home that looks great at first glance.
It’s the most important part of the home buying process because it looks at the hidden parts of a home – the systems, the foundation, the electrical systems, the plumbing, the chimney and more. As they’re the most hidden, they’re also the most expensive to repair should there be a major problem.
But getting a home inspection and finding something wrong doesn’t mean that’s the end of the road – you can use this information as leverage with the seller, reducing the price of the home or requiring them to make the repairs before you buy the home. It’s well worth it!
