Housing Starts Increase In July, Remain At 6-Month Average

Housing starts across Canada increased in July over June, according to the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. There were 185,952 housing starts in June of 2014, but there were 189,784 housing starts in July.

“The trend in construction has increased modestly in recent months due in large part to multiple starts, which have strong variability from month-to-month,” said the chief economist for the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Bob Dugan.
