Selling your home during the winter is not an impossible feat, but staging your home to sell in the winter is a little bit of a different process than staging it in the spring or summer months.
Keep snow cleared. Make your home as easy and safe to approach as possible by keeping your driveway and walkways cleared of snow and preferably salted for safety.
Could your home be too warm? Yes, it’s very cold outside. While you want to have a warm and inviting home, keep in mind the majority of people who come over for a showing might not take their jackets off and will become uncomfortably hot. Lower your home’s temperature accordingly or offer to take their coats.
Keep it bright. If you’re usually an energy saver, reconsider during the winter months. As the days are shorter, the lack of natural light can result in your home not coming off the way it should. Turn all of the lights on for buyers so they’re not fumbling in the dark.
